Can a foreign partner obtain South African permanent residency based on a life-partner permit?
If permanent residency is a wish for the foreign partner of a South African citizen or permanent residency holder, the requirement to be able to apply for permanent residency is that the couple is required to be in a relationship for 5 years or longer and able to show documented proof of this relationship.
