What is a South African Retired permit?
As South Africa is a retired foreigners dream, many foreigners wish to retire temporarily and/or permanently in the country.
This permit is issued by the Department of Home Affairs to foreigners wishing to spend their retirement years in South Africa.
The South African temporary residence retired persons permit is valid for a maximum period of 4 years. South African permanent residence based on retired category can be applied for simultaneously to the South African temporary residence retired persons permit, granted that the requirements are met.
A foreigner may conduct work on a South African temporary residence retired persons permit, an endorsement is issued with the permit.
