What does an internship permit for South Africa entail?
In order to complete an internship programme in South Africa, an internship temporary residence visitors permit will need to be obtained either on arrival in South Africa (dependant on country of origin) or an visitors extension will need to be applied for under the visitors permit-internship category once present in South Africa.
An internship permit does not allow the person who is conducting the programme in South Africa to be remunerated from the South African institiution or company. The length of time of the programme is discussed beforehand and this internship permit for South Africa cannot exceed 12 months.
