   As there are four types of South African work Visa categories, the validation of each particular work Visa varies.
    
   1.  General Work visa – this visa can be issued for a period of 1 – 5 years, this is done with the Department of Home Affair’s discretion.
    
   2.  Quota Work visa – these visas are issued by the Department for a period of 1 – 5 years. 
    
   3.  Exceptional Skills – this work visa can be issued for a period of 1 – 5 years, with the Department discretion concerning the exceptional skills.
    
   4. Intra-Company Transfer visas – these visas are only issued for a maximum period of 2 years by the Department.
