When arriving in South Africa, is a foreigner allowed to work on a visitors visa?

Upon arrival into South Africa, a foreigner may be issued with a visitors visa. Several countries’ residents have to apply for visitor’s visa for South Africa before departing from their country of origin.

A visitor’s visa does not allow the foreigner to work in South Africa, if business activities (such as training staff in South Africa), a business visa endorsement can be added to this at the point of entry or applied for once arriving in South Africa at the Department of Home Affairs.  If continuous employment is the objective; a South African work visa is required to be obtained in order to conduct work in South Africa.

It is always best to speak with a consultant from a Registered Immigration company to provide the best advice prior to arriving in South Africa.
